FIASTRO FARMS
Pullet Sales — Terms & Conditions
1606 Broadway Road, Timonium, MD 21093 | info@fiastrofarms.com | (410) 429-7156
1. Purpose & Acceptance
These Terms and Conditions (“Terms”) govern all pullet sales made by Fiastro Farms (“Farm”, “we”, “us”), located at 1606 Broadway Road, Timonium, MD 21093. By placing an order, the customer (“you”, “Buyer”) acknowledges they have read and agrees to be bound by these Terms in full. We reserve the right to refuse or cancel any order that does not comply with these Terms.
2. Communications
All official communications from Fiastro Farms—including order confirmations, pickup reminders, inventory notifications, extension decisions, holding fee notices, and forfeiture notices—will be sent exclusively to the email address provided at the time of order placement.
It is the Buyer’s sole responsibility to provide a valid, monitored email address when placing an order.
Fiastro Farms is not responsible for communications that are undelivered, filtered to spam, or otherwise not received due to an incorrect or unmonitored email address.
Holding fees and forfeiture timelines continue to accrue regardless of whether the Buyer has read or responded to Farm communications.
To update a contact email after an order has been placed, the Buyer must contact info@fiastrofarms.com in writing prior to the Raise Date.
3. About Our Birds
3.1 Age at Time of Sale
Standard pullets (young hens) are typically 12–18 weeks old at the time of sale—just a few weeks from laying age. On occasion, younger chicks (6–8 weeks) may be offered and will be clearly labeled in all product listings. Most breeds begin laying around 18–22 weeks of age, depending on breed, season, and environment.
3.2 Health & Vaccination
All Fiastro Farms flocks are:
Sourced from NPIP-certified hatcheries
Vaccinated against Marek’s Disease and raised on medicated feed for Coccidiosis
Kept on heat in the brooder through 6 weeks of age, then transitioned to a protected run and coop
Raised in flock groups that are not intermingled with other flocks prior to sale
3.3 Breed Availability & Substitution
Fiastro Farms makes every effort to fulfill orders with the exact breeds selected. However, poultry availability is subject to natural factors including hatching rates and seasonal conditions. In the event of an inventory shortfall, we will notify the Buyer promptly and offer options including a comparable breed substitution or order cancellation with full refund. Fiastro Farms is not liable for any losses arising from breed unavailability beyond our control.
3.4 Minimum Purchase Recommendation
We recommend a minimum of 3–4 hens. Chickens are social animals and do best in small flocks. While we do not enforce a minimum order quantity, purchases of fewer than 3 birds are at the Buyer’s discretion.
4. Understanding Your Pullet Raise Date
Every order SKU includes a four-digit Pullet Raise Date code—the date the pullets in your order are raised and available for pickup.
4.1 How to Read the Date Code
The last four digits of the SKU represent the Raise Date in MMDD format.
Example: SKU ending in 0503 = Pullet Raise Date of May 3.
It is the Buyer’s responsibility to review the date code on their order confirmation before purchasing.
5. Pickup Policy
PICKUP IS MANDATORY. Fiastro Farms does not ship live birds and does not offer delivery. All sales are farm pick-up only at 1606 Broadway Road, Timonium, MD 21093.
5.1 Appointment Required
An appointment is required for all pickups. Walk-in visits and unscheduled arrivals will not be accommodated. Pickup appointments may be scheduled via the Farm’s website. You may not pick up chickens or visit the farm without a confirmed appointment.
5.2 Seven-Day Pickup Window
Once your order’s Pullet Raise Date has passed, you have a seven (7) calendar day window to complete pickup. This window begins the day after the Pullet Raise Date.
Example: SKU ending in 0503 (Raise Date: May 3) → pickup window is May 4–May 10, inclusive.
Calendar days are used—weekends and holidays count toward the seven-day window.
Orders placed on or after the Raise Date still carry a seven (7) calendar day pickup window from the date of order confirmation.
6. Failure to Pick Up — Holding Fees & Forfeiture
If pickup is not completed within the seven (7) calendar day window and no written extension has been granted (see Section 7), the following shall apply:
6.1 Holding Fee
Beginning on Day 8 (the first day after the pickup window closes), a holding fee of $5.00 per bird, per calendar day will be assessed. The holding period is capped at a maximum of seven (7) additional days (Days 8–14), unless prior express written consent has been granted by Fiastro Farms (see Section 7). Holding fees must be paid in full before pickup will be permitted.
Example: An order of 4 birds picked up on Day 10 would incur a holding fee of $60.00 (4 birds × $5.00 × 3 days).
Holding fees accrue regardless of whether Fiastro Farms has been able to reach the Buyer.
The maximum holding fee per bird is $35.00 (7 days × $5.00), absent written consent for an extended hold.
6.2 Order Forfeiture
If an order has not been picked up by the end of Day 14 (or the last day of any Farm-approved extended hold), the order will be automatically forfeited. Upon forfeiture:
The order will be deemed forfeited and Fiastro Farms may resell or rehome the birds without further notice to the Buyer.
No refund will be issued for the original purchase price or any accrued holding fees.
Fiastro Farms is not liable for any costs, losses, or inconvenience resulting from a Buyer’s failure to pick up within the required window.
7. Extensions — Express Written Consent Required
Extensions are not automatically granted and are entirely at the discretion of Fiastro Farms.
7.1 How to Request an Extension
All requests must be submitted in writing to Fiastro Farms prior to the expiration of the seven-day window.
Requests must include: Buyer name, order number, SKU, original Raise Date, and the specific proposed pickup date.
An extension is only valid when confirmed in writing by an authorized representative of Fiastro Farms. Verbal agreements, text messages, and social media communications do not constitute written consent.
Approval of one extension does not obligate the Farm to approve future requests from the same Buyer.
7.2 Denial of Requests
Fiastro Farms is under no obligation to accommodate requests for alternate dates, times, or extended holds. Requests may be denied for any reason including, but not limited to, space constraints, animal welfare concerns, or prior non-compliance.
8. No Returns or Exchanges
ALL SALES ARE FINAL. Fiastro Farms cannot and will not accept any birds back under any circumstances. Once a bird leaves the Farm, it cannot be returned, exchanged, or surrendered back to Fiastro Farms—no exceptions.
This policy exists to protect the health and biosecurity of all birds—both those remaining on the Farm and those already in customers’ flocks. Buyers are strongly encouraged to thoroughly assess their needs, housing readiness, and flock compatibility before purchasing.
9. Wholesale & Bulk Orders
Special pricing is available for orders of 10 or more pullets. Buyers interested in bulk or wholesale pricing must contact Fiastro Farms directly at info@fiastrofarms.com prior to placing an order. All bulk orders are subject to these Terms in full, including the mandatory pickup and no-return policies.
10. Buyer Responsibilities
Review the SKU and Raise Date at the time of order.
Schedule a pickup appointment via the Farm’s website before the window expires.
Arrange appropriate transportation and housing for birds prior to pickup.
Arrive during Farm operating hours. After-hours pickup is not available.
Monitor the pickup deadline and submit any extension request before the window closes.
11. General Provisions
Amendments. Fiastro Farms may update these Terms at any time. The Terms in effect at the time of order placement govern that order.
Severability. If any provision is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain in full force.
Entire Agreement. These Terms constitute the entire agreement between Fiastro Farms and the Buyer regarding pullet sales and pickup obligations.
Governing Law. These Terms shall be governed by the laws of the State of Maryland.
